My kids are extra special. Our school is in a small town where 88% are on free lunches and more than 50% of my kids speak English at school and Spanish at home. They truly amaze me everyday. Many of my kids have never been out of their community and appreciate anything extra special I bring for them. I bought them all books and extra pencils and markers to use at home for Christmas this year and several cried with gratitude. They amaze me with their stories of close family and hardships. One very smart little boy in my class said earlier this year that he couldn't wait to start working so he could send his money to help his aunt out... And he's only 6! They amaze me on how quickly they learn. My kiddos often translate their entire parent teacher conference from English to Spanish as well as everyday conversations. They are amazing little people and I'm lucky to be their teacher.
