Every day I work with small groups of students on specific skills they need to become better readers. I love this small group time and my kids have made great gains! But it definitely has taken away from the time I get to spend reading aloud to them. Good literature is not only fun for them, but also exposes them to rich vocabulary and experiences they may otherwise not have. While I am working with my small group, we need a listening center so that my students can listen to books read aloud to them. This listening center will allow all my student access to good quality literature as they listen to and share books during our center time.
