I teach 6 classes each day, which means I see over 100 students per day. The students rotate between art, music, STEM, and PE. Overall, I have almost 400 students. I teach kindergarten through 5th grade classes. I teach in a small, rural area. My students are full of energy and we learn about not only music itself, but how it relates to other subject matter and to the world around us. The students all perform in a music program each year. I feel like we are lucky at our school to have strong special area programs from elementary through high school. The students are passionate about their time in our special area classes and have been vocal about what those classes mean to them. Giving these students opportunities to explore their passions, strengths, and talents is a thrill and is so important. "Being a musician maps the mind for success; success in all avenues of life."
