A library is at the heart of a first grade classroom. It allows students to engage with books, inspiring their creativity and providing them access to a world beyond our four classroom walls! At this age, students should be engaged in reading throughout the school day and should be able to take home their books to enjoy and practice with their families.
All student should have access to a library that excites and supports them as readers. While my students are eager to explore the books in our classroom library, books at their reading level are extremely limited. As students grow through different levels, there aren't enough books to support all of their needs. Additionally, the limited supply of books means that students are unable to take them home and further develop their love for reading.
I am asking for donations to go towards our classroom library. With your help, we can add more books to our library so that students will be able to read and enjoy texts that are appropriate for them. Your donation will also provide bags that will allow students to take their books home to continue to develop their reading with their families. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom!
