Items such as pocket chart cards, letter cubes, word building mats, bookshelves and a pencil sharpener will help my students be able to be more interactive with their learning. I work with students on literacy skills and I work in a school that does not provide a lot of supplies to teachers beyond basic supplies. Getting these supplies will help my students bring reading to life. Having these items will help me to display more visual items for students to see and interact with, which is a highly effective way to help them learn English. Learning English as a native speaker can be tricky. Trying to learn the intricacies of English when it is your second language is extra tricky. I am trying to provide them with opportunities to develop and foster a love of reading.
