The materials that I am requesting for my students will expose them to a novel full of friendship, wonder, and diversity. With each chapter students will develop their comprehension and critical thinking skills with text dependent and open ended questions. Students will be immersed in vocabulary work with each chapter, using strategies to help them understand the words and their meanings. Students will work with state standards that are required for the 4th grade moving towards proficiency. This book will also allow students to use their creativity when they produce a individual project of their choosing to display what they have learned throughout the book. With your help my students will experience a magical world full of wonder while simultaneously developing their reading skills.
