Technology has become an important and significant part of today's world. Students are expected to be technologically proficient by the time they enter high school and beyond. By giving my students the chance of learning through the use of the tablet, they are not only gaining knowledge about various subjects, but they are enjoying and learning how to use technology that they do not have access to outside of school.
The traditional passive learning mold is a thing of the past. What student doesn't like going to computer lab? As times progress, students are becoming more excited about technology, having a mobile technology lab at their fingertips will help them access the most up-to-date information easier and more quickly. My students will use the tablets to research subjects for group reports, as well as use various educational apps to help improve their reading fluency and comprehension and strengthen problem solving skills in math and science.
Since students have diverse learning styles, integrating the use of tablets in the classroom allows students to learn independently and collaboratively. The opportunity to use technology sparks excitement and eagerness to learn. As a teacher it is my job to help students become independent, confident individuals who are ready to conquer the world.
