When students are comfortable, they are more able to learn. Kindergarten students have a lot of energy, and sometimes have a hard time with things like sitting in a regular chair, or sitting "criss cross" on the rug.
By giving my students a variety of seating options such as stools, donut balls, soft zone floor cushions and wobble chairs, they are able to pick a space that works best for them, and ultimately are better able to focus and complete tasks more successfully throughout the day. Many of the seating options allow students to move while learning, making the task of sitting less difficult for our youngest learners.
