I believe students will feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed.
I will use the seating stools to provide a more comfortable seating for my kids. I will use the cushions for students to work closer to the floor. I would use the lap desks for students to have the choice of where they would like to write/read.
I believe that moving, stretching, and walking – can actually enhance the learning process, especially at a younger age.
My goal is for flexible seating to help improve student focus while at the same time keeping them active. I am hoping this project, if funded, will help keep students engaged, comfortable and excited to be in my classroom.
