I teach in a low income area. While my high school has a great success rate in terms of graduating high school, very few of my students will graduate college. We live in a rural environment and many of the students are minorities. For most, education is not their first priority. Instead, their focus is on life outside of school. Many times they are helping provide for their families. As for the school, it is six years old but still lacking in certain materials. The environment is conducive to learning, as students are expected to attend regularly and complete assignments in a timely manner.
