The manipulatives, such as the bears, blocks, and building sticks will be used during math lessons, Fun Friday activities, and Rainy Day Recess activities. A little fun never hurt, especially when it helps a student learn. Many of the supplies I am seeking will be used in furthering students’ understanding of reading, writing, and mathematics while also letting the students have a little fun. The educational games, such as Sight Word Bingo, will enable my students to practice reading, writing, and mathematics using multiple strategies. Other supplies will aid in every day occurrences. Noise Buffer Headphones will allow students with noise sensitivity to still participate in classroom activities without becoming overwhelmed. A portable CD player and music will allow the students to enter into a calm classroom, or provide the beat for movement activities. The help yourself book shelf offers students a place to set books they wish to be read during story time. As a new teacher I have not had the opportunity to collect many of these supplies that can be used constructively every day. By obtaining the items in this project I will be able to better engage students in learning. Any donation is greatly appreciated as it means that I will have one more thing, no matter how small, to support my students. Thank you so very much!
