My school and my students are incredibly diverse. The kids come from many different backgrounds and situations, but they all use those experiences in their learning and to make them stronger individuals.
As a Title I school, many of my students have challenging situations at home and see their parents and caregivers struggle to make ends meet. Many of them can't afford extra supplies for school such as science project boards, equipment for extracurricular activities, or their own copies of a book for a novel study in class.
Despite the challenges they go through, my students always show me that they can overcome obstacles and that they are going to work hard. They are dreamers, builders, scientists, explorers, problem solvers, and they make me laugh and smile everyday!
