Our 5 year old students come to school after years of being able to run outside, jump, skip, hop, and move as needed. Too often, as soon as they get to school expectations are put on them to sit quietly, walk quietly, and talk quietly. We are finding this to become more and more difficult for children.
Providing students with the Hokki stools gives students an alternate choice to "sitting quietly."
In our classroom, we choose to have alternative lighting and seating, to help with the non-traditional atmosphere. We would like to have bluetooth speakers to play soothing music in one of our classrooms and slightly more upbeat music in the other. We believe in giving students a choice of what atmosphere they learn best in.
