The only experience most of my students have with photography is taking selfies. These cameras will give students the opportunity to turn the camera outward, to break from their comfort zones, and to explore the world through a different lens (pardon the pun).
By supporting this project, you are supporting not only students in the journalism program, but all students, staff, and community members who read our work.
We will use these cameras to strengthen photojournalistic elements in our newspaper, yearbook, and on our website. Through photography, students will make their written work more effective and impactful.
Sometimes, a single photo can speak louder than words, and with these cameras, students can work to capture the world through their eyes.
