My players are the most hardworking, dedicated, and driven group of girls you will ever meet. They face a variety of challenges whether it is being an immigrant child, living in poverty, or being grade levels behind in reading. However, they push themselves on and off the field to be the best student athletes they can be, as well as trying to set themselves up for successful future. Many of my girls work to support their families so that they can have their basic needs met.
Our school is a Title 1 school, meaning over 65% of the students receive free and reduced lunch. Many of our students, including my players, have limited resources and opportunities because of their socioeconomic status.
