Our classroom is in a low income school district where most of our students lack every necessities. The struggles these students encounter in their every day lives makes learning difficult and using their imagination and creativity to discover the world around them even more of a challenge. In our classroom, where we have both General Education students as well as Special Education students we strive to engage our students in a way that helps them experience learning through discovery and art so they can understand and participate in learning in a hands on way. We have found that this approach is universal and gives all students the chance to explore and discover things that can not be taught in books.
