The requested materials of STEM; Lego, game boards, and puzzles will engage my students in extending their learning from school to home. For example, my students are facing with many learning challenges with the daily academic rigor of reading, writing, and math. These hands-on new resources will tremendously increase many positive factors in their learning. While my students will use those resources to increase engagement in developing critical thinking skills, it will also help develop self-confidence and motivate them to learn more. In addition, by them spending and sharing time with their family will provide a more closed relationship between school and home. Using these sources in school and at home; my students will develop a more solid and stronger relationship in both places.
STEM: The resources of (Lego, game boards, and puzzles), will be used during our NGSS (Next Generation Science ) lessons in the classroom. Then, once they learned how to use the materials, the Lego will be shared with their family on a rotated basis. Both the game boards and puzzles are used to promote group collaboration during small group rotations. Students will learn the importance of team-collaboration and sportsmanship.
What's most exciting about this project is that students will be engaged in the sense that they will get an opportunity to be become leader of leading the activity or game at home with their family. This experience will extend learning with the family because learning will continue at home.
