I have been experimenting with flexible seating in my classroom for the last few school years. I have found several options that work really well. Yoga balls have been a great option, but my students would benefit from a chair structure around the balls to keep them in place and provide back support.
My goal for this year is to continue to give my students a variety of non-traditional seating options to keep them active and engaged. I want my students to feel comfortable being active in the classroom while they are learning. Often times, all they need is an outlet for their extra energy and movement. By bringing in additional flexible seating options, they will be able to move and stretch all while staying focused and on task.
