I have (I think) the best kids in the world. I teach approximately 325 students at a Title 1 school, where much of our student population needs financial assistance. Our school is a public school, and in spite of being economically challenged, our students' achievement scores are very high overall. However, many of my kids do not have the chance to take part in experiences outside of the academic classroom that would enrich their lives. The only "arts" class they receive is music. I believe music education to be essential to the lives of elementary students, and am so blessed to be a music teacher!
