The lab materials that I am requesting will allow my students to explore and experience many of the Next Generation Science Standards for Middle School using a hands-on approach These kits and materials will expose my students to the fields of Biotechnology, Chemistry, Life Science and Physics in a way that is engaging to them and will spark their curiosity, laying the foundation of their Scientific knowledge. Students will experience first hand many of the scientific concepts that are included in the NGSS curriculum, which will develop their interest in Science. For instance, one of the kits will allow students to extract their own DNA, and then take it home with them in a necklace that they will make in the classroom.
