The couch, chair and ottoman will allow the children to have a comfortable place to read and read to peers. A love for reading at an early age will foster that love for reading for a lifetime! Even the youngest preschooler can "read" and talk about what they have read. It is so wonderful to listen to what children predict what will happen next and then to turn the page and see their faces light up when they are right!! Just like adults have their favorite books,so do children and it is great to see them read their favorite book over and over again!
It would be awesome to be able to have the couch and chair in my classroom and see how many more children would visit the center and be asked to read to and read on their own. Children who read are better learners and better listeners. Reading takes you to a different place, and allows children to get lost in the book they are reading and forget about the stress they face at home.
