With these viewers, I will create a virtual reality station, where students can have an interactive immersion experience like never before. Students can travel the world, explore space, the oceans, and see inside the human body without leaving the classroom.
In the social studies classroom, I can take students to natural history museums, explore Manchu Picchu, Great Wall of China, or the Great Pyramids of Giza. Of course, this will not take the place of traditional field trips, but this will give me an opportunity to take students to places I would never be able to.
Because many of my students live in poverty, they do not have smartphones, the critical piece of technology needed to operate these devices. I would love to keep adding viewers to my classroom set as I get more access to new or used smartphones or IPODs.
