By providing these materials, my students will be able to engage and understand the math we are learning in a fun and meaningful way that is relevant to the common core math standards. Using the graph paper for my cartoon drawing will allow my students to better understand that proportional scaling is when both width and length are reduced or enlarged according to the same ratio. We will also be using the graph paper for a dream house project. Students will measure room dimensions and real life objects to create a 3D scale drawing of their dream house. The grid paper will help them understand the square footage of the house. The grid poster paper will allow my students to explore there creativity as cartoonists and architectural engineers. This resource will help my students get excited and engaged in their learning!
