My students are 34 wonderful first graders. One group consists of 16 students and the other of 17. Each group is diverse in their own way. I see each group every other day. They each enjoy using the iPads when it is their turn. They like to hear and sing along to the songs that come with two of the three programs. My first graders also enjoy reading and solving math problems on the iPad, since they think of them as games.
My school is 97% Hispanic and 96% of the students receive reduce or free lunch. Also, the community is involved with the school. Parents volunteer in the classroom or in different areas of the school.
