My students are a group of urban kids, who live in one of the roughest areas of Orlando. They are subject to unnecessary violence, murders, and robberies each and every day. As a member of their community, I want my students to be able to take flight and soar to their own path of success. My goal for them is college readiness, and cultural awareness. When they come into my classroom, I just want them to find a place of love, serenity, joy, and hope of a better future. I let my students know that there is life beyond the streets, and the decisions you make right now, even in the first grade, will determine your forever!

About my class
