My classroom consists of low income students, who come from different countries or were born here, but were raised to speak only Spanish. They are Spanish speakers, raised with the mentality that they will have to work to support their families and that education to them is not important. Some of these students come from families who have never attended school and do not realize how important education is. Our school has a high percentage of students who are low income families, who are in need. We have many students who do not have the support at home, giving them a low chance of finishing even high school.
