This plotter and ink will allow us to present student work in an industry-standard format, giving students a more genuine experience of producing and interpreting technical documents.
Local manufacturers consistently report that making and reading technical drawings is the one skill students need most to be hire-able out of high school.
With this technology, student work from Computer Aided Design, Architecture, 3-D Modeling and Digital Design courses would all be able to show off work beyond the space limitations of a traditional printer.
We would also be able to use it to produce realistic exemplars for students to interpret and critique, providing an experience much closer to what they will experience in the workforce.
