I have 25 awesome fourth grade students who all come from varying economic and culturally diverse backgrounds. I have 12 boys and 13 girls. My students each have their own schema they build upon each day. In our class we support each other by words of encouragement, classroom responsibilities, and maintaining a positive classroom environment. My students feel supported and loved, and therefore each strive to do their best. They love to be active and are very creative. They have taken on leadership roles in the classroom that have given them a sense of purpose.
Our school sits in a diverse pocket of the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system. We have students who come to us ranging from low income single family homes to higher economic status neighborhoods.
