Kinder students will observe chicks and ducks grow inside the egg before hatching and then watch the eggs hatch. By keeping Farm Innovators incubators in the classroom, students can observe what is happening inside the eggs by candling the eggs every few days. Once the chicks/ducks hatch, the students will learn how to care for them before we hand them over to a farm who has said they would take the animals.
These students will not necessarily experience anything like this in their lives. We have done this project before but the incubators are not working like they should. Due to this, the amount of eggs hatching are not as high as it should be. Therefore, the students are not observing the full experience of chicks/ducks hatching.
