Every day I teach my students something new to try in reader's workshop and they eagerly go off on their own to read independently. Yet our book boxes need help! They are made of flimsy material, get broken very easily, and books fall through them everyday.
My blossoming readers need sturdier supplies so they can concentrate on reading and not fixing their book box every day. Help us get long lasting materials so each year my students can use these multiple times a day to go book shopping with ease.
Multiple times a day, a hear a student say, "Ms. Hickey! my books fell through again. I need duct tape!" So instead of helping my growing readers, I am taping the weak book boxes at least twice a week.
