I teach first grade in a town that has nine elementary schools. We are one of the largest schools in the district and have many students that require services. Many times we need to buy our own supplies when the schools runs out of something, such as glue sticks, so that our students may complete their work on a day to day basis. I sometimes find myself buying such items when I don't even need them at the time just in case a shortage occurs! I love teaching at this school and would not trade my job for anything else, however, sometimes it is difficult when we are not provided with the basic tools for student learning.
