Our co-taught classroom consist of 24 kindergarten students including special and regular education students. Many students receive a free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Due to the high poverty in our district, several students have limited access to technology in their homes. Our classroom and school may be their only opportunity to learn through the use of technology.
Our kindergarten students ask an array of questions all day long! They are active and always want to be doing something. Upon completion of tasks, they quickly ask, "What can I do now?" They enjoy computer time and would look forward to practicing their kindergarten skills on an iPad.
Some of our students struggle with fine motor skills. Using their fingers on an iPad's touch screen would help with students' dexterity. They would become more comfortable with technology, and they would be deepening their knowledge of math and literacy.
