Many of my students benefit from the use of math and reading programs that help provide pre-teaching, reteaching, and extra practice opportunities. Fortunately, my students have consistent access to laptop computers. Unfortunately, the use of these computers and this type of learning experience is inhibited simply because we have a limited number of headphones in the building.
Technology is a vital component to my students' daily instruction. The programs we utilize allow students to work at a pace comfortable to them. Anxiety is reduced and confidence is increased through what they like to perceive as their very own private tutor. The noise level in our classroom greatly impacts the mood, feeling of safety, and daily success of my students. The use of headphones will limit noise and distractions during computer use, and ultimately result in optimal learning and successful, happy students.
