I have 24 second graders. My students come from a high poverty neighborhood. Most of my students don't get anything, and some don't even have their needs met. I teach at a title one school, where every student gets free lunch. Many are English learners. My students try very hard and they want to be successful. It has really opened my eyes to watch my past and current students persevere to overcome the boundaries they have in their lives.
