Welcome to my First Grade world. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have taught first grade 9 years and I've also taught second grade 14 years. I enjoy the content and the standards I teach in first grade, but most of all I love the age group. Children in first grade are spontaneous and loving towards their teacher. I love watching them grow academically. I have been at Roosevelt Elementary School for over 25 years now. This school is an inner city school which provides free breakfast and lunch to 100% of the students. It is a school where 81% of the students come from economically disadvantaged homes and 61% of the students are English language learners.
