Every teacher's dream is to teach a class full of students who are fully engaged. Most students do not stay engaged or reach their full potential sitting in traditional classroom desks and chairs for 6 hours. Students need to move!
Your generous donation to our classroom will allow the students to have flexible seating choices and become more engaged learners. Maybe a student needs to lay on their bellies while reading their favorite novel, stand at a desk while working on their informative writing, or sit in a traditional chair while solving math problems. Students in my class will have that choice. They will have the choice of sitting on exercise balls, wiggle cushions, bar stools, and even bean bags.
By removing desks and implementing flexible seating, I am giving them the ability to choose which style of seating works best for them throughout the day. We are allowing them to move and become engaged learners.
