We are beginning a new intervention project for our middle school students. It is very exciting and we would like to begin accumulating the materials we need to make it a HUGE success. We will be starting a Restorative Room. This room will be a place students can come to cool down and gather themselves before going back to class. This room will provide a series of circuits students will have to go through before reflecting on how they can make a positive change to reengage in their classroom activity. Circuits will include tactile bins for touching and playing, an art corner, a computer corner, balance boards, sand trays....just to name a few. Our goal is to provide this outlet to students as an intervention in hopes to avoid any further consequences like suspensions or detentions.
