My project is to be able to provide the same amenity given to anyone, required to sit for long periods, at a desk. The idea came to me this year, after watching one of my students constantly squirm, and sit on his feet. After asking what was wrong, he asked if he could sit in the floor, because it was softer! It was at that moment, I started offering my desk chair to students. He is absolutely right! Anytime students or adults, have a meeting, and are required to sit in the chairs, our first complaint is....I sat too long, or I hurt....that is after only one meeting! We expect our kids to spend hours upon hours, in these chairs. Now, multiply that by days, then by months! No wonder the kid was squirming, he was miserable!!! Our chairs have been around, since I was in the classroom. Some are broken, some wobble a little, most do not match.....but they are ALL uncomfortable!
