For many of my kiddos, they do not see mirrors in the books that they read or even sometimes the books that I read to them. My goal for this project is to have more books that provide a mirror for my kiddos. The project will also help to my class to further our discussions as many of my kiddos are from around the world. With all the current events going on, I want to have books that the kiddos can relate to. My hope is to help the kiddos to see how they can learn from one another. I want my kiddos to know that it is okay to ask questions and to be curious about current events and things that are relevant to them. The only way to make change is to not be afraid to have the conversations. Here is to hoping that the donation of these books will allow for my students to have meaningful conversations with books that are mirrors.
