Alternative schools can have a bad reputation, but there are three in Oklahoma City that are raising the bar and demonstrating what is possible when the stakeholders of these schools coalesce in an effort to provide our students with a chance to compete in competitive sports. Our jerseys say Putnam Heights, but our teams are pulled from three different alternative schools. Emerson South, Emerson North, and Putnam Heights Academy are these schools. They are the alternative schools for the Oklahoma City Public School system
Being part of this team, and allowing the kids a chance to develop and showcase their talents, is the major factor that keeps some of them from dropping out. We never stop striving
to create a program that gives many disadvantaged youth from the greater Oklahoma City area a second chance to shine!
