My students are a vibrant group of four- and five-year-olds who are embarking on their very first official school experience: Transitional Kindergarten. Our classroom is a magical place where "play" is the most important work we do.
My "TKers" come from diverse backgrounds and enter the classroom with varying levels of school readiness. Some are already recognizing letters, while others are learning how to hold a pencil for the first time. Despite these differences, they all share one thing in common: an incredible sense of wonder. They are curious, energetic, and eager to explore the world around them. For many of my students, this classroom is where they will develop the social-emotional and academic confidence they need to succeed for the rest of their lives.
