Help me help my kids say, prove, point to "I can do it myself". I am a special education teacher in Brooklyn, New York . I teach Middle/ high school age students with multiple disabilities including autism and cognitive delays. My students are simply exceptional. Our school follow a functional curriculum and our mission is to enable our young adults realize their talents, strengths and capabilities in order to live and work in their communities as independent as possible. Help my students reach their full potential with these shoebox tasks which are hands-on activities that strengthen work/job readiness skills and independence. I want to help prepare them to integrate in their communities . Once they leave our school, they are on their own, these shoebox tasks will teach these young adults the skills they need to develop daily living skills, functional academic skills and job readiness and transitional skills.
