My students take pride in their cultures and communities! Like most learners, my students love to participate in classroom learning when the material and lessons are engaging and relevant to them! I remember as a young leaner myself always asking the question,"why do I need to know this and when will I use it?"Now, as a educator I strive to deliver curriculum that is engaging while trying to keep up with the latest trends!
Teaching 5th grade, every year my students favorite activity to do is listen to myself read aloud! We get so into the story and connect with the characters that we always loose track of time. But I never complain because the students are able to make so many connections and critical thinking during our discussions that makes my teacher heart happy! Therefore many of our donor choose projects relate to novels that I would love to incorporate and share with my young learners!
