The students in my classroom beg me to do research projects! In this ever-changing technology age, computers are necessary tools that students need to utilize these researching skills. We struggle as a classroom to compete for computer cart or lab time with 40 other teachers in my building. This is a daily challenge and hinders their development as future expert researchers.
Your donation of ChromeBooks will change the lives of my students and help them to learn the skills to become lifelong learners. These Google-based computers will give them access to a tremendous amount of information in real time. They no longer have to wait for a cart to become available for two weeks or more at a time before they can find out the answers to their questions.
Being a low-income school, our students often only have access to this technology inside the walls of our building. Many of the families cannot afford to give their children access to this life-changing technology.
In my classroom, the students will research famous monuments and people around the world. They will use Google Docs to publish their findings and create documents and presentations that they can be proud of! I can't think of anything more rewarding than putting the world at my students' fingertips!
