Have you heard of flexible seating? It's a relatively new way that teachers are transforming their classrooms in an effort to make their learning spaces more student centered. Flexible classroom seating give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and helps each child work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking. With the help of funding, I can bring flexible seating to my classroom that will help students be more engaged. What I am striving for is letting students choose the seat that works best for them.
Students from all walks of life learn differently. By having multiple seating choices, will help students stay focused when they are in an environment that they have chose. When students are comfortable, they tend to be more engaged and less time having to get up and move around. I believe that keeping students engaged and focus is important for my students and with flexible seating in my classroom I feel that I will accomplish just that!
