I am requesting books with accompanying CD or tape to encourage my first grade students to love reading as much as I do. I will use these items during their Reading Block as a Daily 5 station. They will learn how to share books and use the CD player (5 head phones attached) autonomously. I also am requesting math read aloud stories to use in my math lessons. They would be perfect during my anticipatory set and getting students minds thinking about the objective. Fulfilling this project will not just impact me, but will be significant to my students. As I was looking for materials I was thinking about what they would like and want to read/listen to. I want to guide them into loving and appreciating different types of literature.
