For the past two years I invested in building a second grade classroom library. But this coming school year (2016-2017) I will be teaching fourth grade! While I am excited to be back in fourth grade, our new classroom library doesn't have many books - and there are not many solid or classic examples of literature.
I would love to have books I can confidently recommend to students who are book shopping. Memorable books that help them grow as readers and as writers.
Students will come to my room each morning before school for Monitored Independent Reading Practice. This means students will self-select books from our classroom library at their personal reading level to read independently. I will conference with them often to encourage their strengths and offer reading strategies to try.
Thank you for considering helping us build our classroom library!
