I teach 6th grade in a very rural, high-poverty school district in Eastern Oregon. My students have a wide variety of interests and academic abilities.
I am doing my best to provide all of my students an enriching learning environment that enables them to feel comfortable, welcome and safe - all necessary in order to access their highest learning potential. This is a challenge with our small classroom budget!
I also operate as our district's Instructional Technology coach, mentoring teachers and staff on the use and integration of technology in their classroom. This year, we launched an elementary competetive robotics team, a very exciting opportunity for our students! As the coach, I am looking for opportunities to expand their learning and guide them through a successful implementation year!
