In my classroom I offer students a choice between floor pillows, tables (instead of desks) a large area rug where I provide my direct instruction, crates with cushion, and a lowered table for sitting on the floor. This was a great way to start the transformation of my classroom from traditional seating to alternative seating. It is my mission to grow my classroom into a student centered learning environment. The Hokki Stools will add to the choices students have as alternative seating.
Learning can and does occur in all corners of the classroom.
I contend that using these stools will positively impact every aspect of my students' engagement by providing opportunities to learn in more meaningful, and interactive ways; thus, promoting cooperative and collaborative relationships and instilling a sense of ownership and pride in their classroom.
