My classroom is getting rid of the traditional desks and chairs, and bringing in tables and alternative seating methods! Research has shown that when students choose their seat, they will choose the seat that works best for their learning style. Classes with flexible seating have seen increased student engagement, performance, grades, and productivity.
Balance balls and wobble chairs are perfect for the students with the wiggles! Sitting on them will help them get the wiggles out while remaining focused.
Students will have the option to be at a lowered table with mats and pillows, a table with chairs, stability balls, and/or wobble chairs, stand at a raised table, or sit on the floor with clipboards and lap desks.
